The White House confirmed Monday (20 March) that President Donald Trump's eldest daughter would get her own space in the West Wing, along with a government-issued phone and access to classified information, Reuters reported.

Trump says she will follow ethics rules and some of her financial information will be included in Kushner's official disclosures.

In her unpaid role, Ivanka will "continue to be the eyes and ears of her father and provide candid advice as she has for her entire adult life", her attorney, Jamie Gorelick, said in an NPR interview.

Trump's husband, Jared Kushner, is already employed as a senior adviser to the president.

Trump stepped down from her role as head of her fashion and jewelry company when her father took office.

She added that Ivanka will "abide by all the ethical rules that she would abide by if she were an employee". Though she will not be sworn in or get a government salary, she will resemble a full-time staffer in the White House in other ways.

Don't look for her at the White House this week, though. The better thing to do would be to concede that she is subject to the rules. The first daughter does not have an official title or position.

The Oakland Raiders signed former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver and return specialist Cordarrelle Patterson on Monday. The last guy to do it was Jacoby Ford in 2011, returning a kick 101 yards for the score.

Ivanka's participation has concerned many with potential conflicts of interest between her businesses and her father's administration. "We're trying to minimise those to the extent possible". "It would create some outside accountability, because if she could voluntarily subject herself to the rules, she can voluntarily un-subject herself to the rules", Eisen said according to Politico.
