Veteran USF defensive back Hassan Childs was injured overnight in a shooting in Tampa

Following an instance of road rage that resulted in Childs being shot late on Saturday night, Childs was arrested on Monday and is now recovering in the hospital.

In his first year with the South Florida Bulls program, he spoke on the responsibility to represent the university appropriately. Childs has an active concealed weapons permit. They recovered a loaded firearm and 20 grams of marijuana from Childs' vehicle. The case has been forwarded to the Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office to determine whether charges should be filed.

USF safety Hassan Childs was still in the hospital as of Monday, but Strong said Childs is expected to make a full recovery.
