Jeff Sessions speaks about crime to local state and federal law enforcement officials Friday

"This is a new era", he said.

That era brings with it new guidelines for federal prosecutors that include harsher punishments for human smugglers and people who repeatedly cross the border illegally, Sessions said at the Mariposa Port of Entry, where billions of dollars in produce and industrial items cross the border every year and authorities sometimes find semi-tractor trailers hauling thousands of pounds of marijuana.

According to recently released Department of Justice data, Immigration Offenses make up more than half of all arrests made by Federal Law Enforcement.

We mean worldwide criminal organizations that turn cities and suburbs into warzones, that rape and kill innocent citizens. It is here on this sliver of land, on this border, where we first take our stand.

In his Nogales speech, Sessions stressed the dangers of criminal gangs, whose members he said "turn cities and suburbs into war zones", "rape and kill innocent citizens" and profit from trafficking people across the border.

Tim Tebow goes long again, hitting 2nd homerun in 3 games
Tebow signed a minor league deal with the Mets back in September and has been at their spring training facility in Port St. Other than the two home runs, he has one other hit and has struck out five times in 13 total at-bats.

"The battle is far from over. Instead, the Trump administration, and Mr. Sessions, are set on throwing good taxpayer money after bad on a boondoggle of a wall that will only cause greater harm to families and wildlife along the border, while failing as immigration policy".

Sessions also announced that he would take measures to accelerate some initiatives that had previously been announced.

To that end, Sessions announced that each USA attorney would be required to designate a point person on border security prosecutions by April 18.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions described immigrants as "filth" during a speech in Arizona.

On Tuesday, Sessions also announced they are hiring more immigration judges to help reduce the backlogs in immigration courts.

1 person dead after shooting near mall in South Florida
Employees of other stores and restaurants were seen leaving about an hour after the shooting, once the scene was secure. Wilson had apparently been let go by the Equinox fitness center in Coral Gables but showed up Saturday in his uniform.

Jon Feere, a former legal policy analyst for the Center for Immigration Studies, or CIS, has been hired as an adviser to Thomas D. Homan, the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to Homeland Security spokesman David Lapan.

Sessions is one of the leading forces behind Trump's immigration policy, and has always been a proponent in the Senate of hard-line immigration policies. A 2014 Pew analysis, however, found that a boom in offenders sentenced in federal courts was largely driven by unlawful reentry convictions, which increased 28-fold between 1992 and 2012, accounting for almost half the increase in federal sentences in that time period.

Mr Session's statements echo a hard-line stance immigration stance that the president has promoted for years. He was scheduled to continue his Arizona tour on Tuesday in the city of Litchfield Park at the International Assn. of Chiefs of Police Division Midyear Conference, followed by a tour of Luke Air Force Base.

"So our crowd is saying, the geniuses out there, 'Well, we've had this long decrease in crime and now you want to lock more people up, '" he said.

In a memo released on Tuesday, the attorney general called for an increase in the penalties for undocumented immigrants who attempt to re-enter the U.S.

Anthony helps Knicks beat Bulls 100-91
He has repeatedly said he hopes to remain a Knick, but his tone seems to be changing. "Guys were set to play defense". The teams on the left of the average line are teams the Bulls perform worse against than the league in general.
