Bhagwant Mann's appointment as new Punjab chief has triggered a series of resignations in Punjab unit of Aam Aadmi Party.

AAP's outgoing convener - Gurpreet Singh Waraich also questioned the "urgency" in appointing Mann as the new state chief and asked under "what pressure" this decision was taken. The AAP MLA and leader of opposition in Punjab said that the decision to elect Mann was taken unanimously and there is no "face-off" over the decision, as reported by The Indian Express.

Without naming Kejriwal, Waraich said that the AAP leadership's problems with him had begun when he told them during the election campaign that that there have been have been major complaints against the observers sent from Delhi and they should be recalled.

Mr Mann was appointed as the chief of AAP's Punjab unit on May 8 at a meeting of the AAP Political Affairs Committee (PAC).

Players 'scared' to criticise Sharapova, says Bouchard
Bouchard had called Sharapova a cheat before the Russian's return to competitive action last month after a 15-month doping ban. Against Mladenovic in Stuttgart, Sharapova had three break points to earn a shot at closing the match in straight sets.

The ruling Congress leaders also claimed that AAP MLAs were also keen to join the party after the mutiny in AAP's Punjab unit.

Reacting to party's decision to suspend another senior leader, Patiala MP Dr Dharamvira Gandhi who was suspended from party two years ago said, "AAP came with an ideology, but with that ideology gone for a toss, the party has also lost its standing".

Apparently upset over his removal as the convener of the Punjab unit, Waraich said he would soon talk to the media on the issue.

The right process would have been to call 117 candidates who contested the recently held state assembly polls, he said adding that heads of some wings of the party were called, yet many were ignored in this pick-and-choose process. He said the AAP leadership in Delhi should give a free hand to whoever was made the convenor.

Hindu group beats Muslim man to death in northern India
The men claiming to be from Hindu Yuva Vahini were, on their part, visiting Sohi on a daily basis all these days. The victim was identified as Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Sohi village under the Pahasu Police Station here.

Ghuggi, however, didn't rule out the possibility of joining another political party.

Ghuggi was removed from the post to make way for Mann, who was allegedly appointed on the condition that 'he will not drink'.

"It hurts me that I'm being forced to work under a person who has been made a Convener after the party convinced him to quit his drinking habits. His resignation is a direct result of the moral degradation of the AAP", SAD secretary general Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa said.
