LOS ANGELES (AP) — Team USA will not repeat as "Dancing with the Stars" champions after Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles was eliminated from the reality competition despite ideal scores for her two dances during Monday night's performance.

But the writing was probably on the wall last Monday after judges had blasted Biles, 20, for being robotic during "Trios Night".

Since eliminations are determined by a combination of judges' scores and viewer votes, it is obvious Biles did not have a strong enough fan base.

Did the TV tiff cause Biles to lose votes?

Simone Biles came out of her shell with some help from judge Carrie Ann Inaba and absolutely wowed on the dance floor in both of her dances with partner Sasha Farber.

Pippa Middleton's 'elegant' wedding dress design revealed
It has been erected in the rear of Michael and Carole Middleton's garden in Bucklebury, West Berkshire. Prince Harry is also expected to be in attendance on the big day with his girlfriend Meghan Markle .

The young star got emotional while rehearsing with Farber, and broke down in tears, explaining, "I feel like I keep trying my hardest and they keep saying 'No.' I can only try so hard until I'm done. But I had an incredible time on the show, it was exciting". She might also encourage some risk-taking.

Later in the episode, however, Dancing With the Stars judges gave Simone Biles and Sasha Farber the ideal 40/40 score in two of their dances - but it was apparently still not enough to advance into the finale.

Bruno Tonioli said she "let it rip but didn't miss a step - and nailed it", he gushed. "I've matured and I can't wait to go home and I'll be back next week for the finale".

Biles told E! she's happy she can finally get some sleep now. I've been going nonstop since the Olympics.

Meanwhile, the final three competitors were left shocked by Biles' ouster. Looking at David and Lindsay's assignments, they've drawn a Tango for the individual routine, and a Foxtrot for the Judges' Challenge. "I couldn't have asked for a better partner". "I don't know what else I can do". "I'm super happy I'm going [on] but there is a part of me that hurts for her". Len Goodman, one of the singer's most strict and harsh scorers, even gave her a standing ovation, and the duo walked away with a flawless 40 out of 40.

While she seemed to handle the criticism with grace beyond her years, what the cameras couldn't show was what she felt on the inside.

The competition is heating up, as the fight for the mirror ball trophy nears a close! "I nearly ran to the bathroom at one point, but I pulled it together".

"It's never hard for me to talk about anything that I went through".

National Football League running back Rashad Jennings was told by Tonioli that "he has charisma but is still a bit rough around the edges, I know you can catch a ball - but can you catch my challenge?" he quipped.
